It brings me great joy to hear that since the post-general election, people from all walks of life came to a common understanding among the diversity of our people of Malaysia. I AM PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A MALAYSIAN AFTERALL!!! Look around us, people are organising peacefull protest when things doesn't go towards their way (protest for a fair and transparent election by BERSIH group; protest against the DBKL's KLCP2020-Kuala Lumpur City Plan; protest against the unauthorise closure of the Bandar Mahkota Cheras toll-free road by Grand Saga). This clearly shows that we as Malaysians are becoming more mature towards the happenings of the society among us.
Let us travel back to the late 40's, when the British Military Administrative (BMA) decided to make Tanah Melayu and its surrounding selected territories to be called as Malayan Union; mass peaceful protest was organized to show their dissastifaction. Not trying to blow the wistle of racism, but at that time only the Malays participated the protesting movement, while the non-Malays care less about it because it directly benefits them-the non-Malays. But NOW!, now its totally different, we see all races from diverse background of occupation came to a common standing to launch a once and for all movement to tell the government that "thats enough". We are colour blind. We became colour blind and we are happy to be colour blind. I am happy to be colour blind. We had always been a united society since long before, but due to the collision of interest among the politiciants, therefore we tend to sway away from becoming a one and united nation. We are one, we stand as one, we move as one, we have become one with the country and it did HAPPENED!! There is no doubt even people within the ruling regime wants this to happen but the fact is only the people on the top echelon rank refuse to allow this in order to safeguard their self interest. And it is this people that we want to get rid off from our country. What for selecting from the old bunch, just cut out the whole lot of them and bring in the new and fresh ones to the top.
The corruption of UMNO is only rest on the elitist platform, the groundroots are not entitled to enjoy them therefore they are still considered as relevant at the changing times of our political landscape. UMNO can return back to power, but not only by taking out Badawi but also the entire elitist population which includes Najib, Muhyiddin, Hishamuddin, Khairy, Rafidah and the whole bunch of unnamed cronies. Then only they might stand a chance to regain their past glory. Secondly, UMNO would need to change its entire constitution to allow non-Malays to join the party, because without doing so, I promise you all that this party will be irrelevant in the coming future. Malaysians have move to another level of unity and peace, but has UMNO move? At the moment its a direct NO!. But since this is the case then why not change? It needs to reengineer and rebrand its fabric to remain as relevant as possible because no matter how much effort had been put or struggled upon, the final decision still and will always rest in the hands of the voters. We need to have a two-sided party stand. Its like adopting a republicanism form of government, whereby two (2) senators will be summoned to head the regime, but in our modern context, it would be two (2) strong parties to lead and maintain a check balance of governance among each other.
Why not practice an adopted-republican form of government? Afterall we are the ones that benefits from it. Three cheers for all the Malaysians around the world. We had moved towards a new level of maturity. Congratulations! Enjoy this wonderful music full of unity.
