I admit, I'm a big, huge , and gigantic fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I've played the game (PS2: Dynasty Warriors) and read through most of the story-line in other books. Alright, so for those who had watched the movie, well if you don't understand then do go through this post to get a clearer view of how it started and ended.
The FALL of The Western Han Dynasty
The entire epic started during the end of the Han dynasty (220 A.D.) that was started by Han Gao Tzu (If you all remembered it in our Sejarah books in Form 4). Which means China at that time was at a brink of going through another state of division again although Qin Shih Huang Di had once unified all the states under one, where we call China. So during the last few moments of the corrupted Han empire, a rebellion had started; comprising of a very religious leader by the name Zhang Jiao, who lead the sect known as the "The Way of Peace" Sect. Every member in there would wear a yellow bandana on their head as a sign of respect to their so called "teacher" (Zhang Jiao). This "leader" had managed to garner support from the lower class peasants that goes by to millions of them. The corrupted Han government paid no heed to the advice of their loyal officials, and when the time was right, Zhang Jiao, with the aid of his brothers, Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao lauched a surprise rebellion to the capital city of Luoyang known as "The Yellow Turban Rebellion". They plundered into the capital city by millions of them, slaughtering innocence people ranging from young to old under no discriminatory act. Their massive massacre forced the current imperial government to issue a direct order to cease the rebellion by awarding General He Jin (elder half-brother of Empress He, consort (concubine) to Emperor Ling) as Commander-in-Chief to lead the imperial army to pacify the rebellion. It was a mere successful campaign that leads to the abolishment of "The Way of Peace" sect right after the death of their founder, Zhang Jiao due to sickness. This gives the opportuinity for He Jin to further climb the ladder of promotion within the imperial court to Marquis of Shen (Meaning: The cautious marquis).
After the rebellion, officials across the land realised that the imperial government holds not much of the power and it was a sign of the lost of mandate from the Heaven. Within the imperial palace, there was a conspiracy moving in and out that involved the 10 famous Eunuchs lead by Zhang Rang that had executed their plan to assasinate Gen. He Jin. The plan was a success at the cost of their lives, as the Colonial-Lieutenant of Retainers Gen. Yuan Shao, a close ally to Gen. He Jin forcefully barge into the palace ground and led a massacre to eliminate the 10 Eunuchs. This had also brought up the name of Yuan Shao within the imperial court.
The rise and fall of Dong Zhuo
On the other hand, Dong Zhuo who was also a rising prominent figure too was climbing up the ladder of ranks. However, Dong Zhuo took the first step by manipulating within the imperial palace to make Emperor Xian as the legitimate ruler of the land. He chosed Emperor Xian over his half-brother, both being the prince of Emperor Ling (current Emperor) because at one time when Dong Zhuo saved both of the princess, he acted arrogantly and threaten them causing Emperor Xian's elder half-brother to tremble in fear, while Emperor Xian himself questioned the authority of Dong Zhuo, whether was he there to save the princess or to treaten the royal family. That show of authority gave Dong Zhuo a need to get hold of the younger prince so he may hold a higher title/position when Emperor Xian becomes the ruler. Chancellor Dong Zhuo with his superior powers begin his massive hunt in the palace, simply executing officials at his will even to an extent of not showing respect to Emperor Xian. He became the de facto leader of the imperial palace and the land.
Cao Cao, a young official serving in the country was disgusted with the act of Dong Zhuo when Dong drank the wine made from the blood of his enemies with the head of the executed criminal remaining in the jar of wine. Cao Cao discuss with some of the officials to plan a assasination attempt on Dong Zhuo while he's asleep. Cao Cao was appointed the assassin to launch the assasination. He cripped into the room of Dong Zhuo on the reason of wished to discuss with political affairs with the De facto leader. He took out a "famous knife" ready to kill him, when all a sudden Dong Zhuo woke up and saw a shadow and he quickly get up to get his sword. Cao Cao quickly turn his intention of assasination to wishing to award the "famous knife" to Dong Zhuo. This immedietly cause Dong Zhuo to retract his intention of killing Cao Cao because he thought he was there to kill him. The assasination was a failure and Cao Cao immedietly leaved the imperial palace to head back home as quickly as possible before Dong Zhuo finds out of the assasination attempt.
Back home he garnered the support of fellow officials to launch a rebellion on Dong Zhuo for his tyranny action and being disrespectful to the Emperor and the country. The call was made throughout the land. Various officials answered the call of arms and joined Cao Cao to lead the massive army. The coalition comprise of Gen. Yuan Shao-Grand Administrator of Bohai; Lord Sun Jian of Changsha; Lord Ma Teng of Xiliang; Gen. Gongsun Zan; Gen. Yuan Shu-General of the Rear; Han Fu-Governor of Ji Province; Kong Zhou-Governor of Yu Province; Liu Dai-Inspector of Yan Province; Wang Kuang-Grand Administrator of Henei; Zhang Miao-Grand Administrator of Chenliu, Qiao Miao-Grand Administrator of Dongjun; Yuan Yi-Grand Administrator of Shanyang; Bao Xin-Chancellor of Jibei; Zhang Chao-Grand Administrator of Guangling; Zhang Yang-Grand Administrator of Shangdang; Yufuluo of Southern Chanyu of Xiongnu and they are divided into 8 groups. Cao Cao proposed his Lord, Yuan Shao to lead the coalition campaign against Dong Zhuo. Gen. Yuan Shao was thus named the Supreme Commander of the "Coalition army against Dong Zhuo".
The first battle took place between Lord Sun Jian against Dong Zhuo's general, Gen. Hua Xiong (became the vanguard) and Gen. Li Jue. The battle took place in Lu Yang fort and Sun Jian (became the vanguard) was taking/securing grounds forcing Gen. Hua Xiong and Gen Li Jue (Commander-in-Chief) to push back. At one point, Yuan Shu refuse to allow the supply convoy to head to Sun Jian. Outbreak of famine and starvation within the armies of Sun Jian causes him to push back giving chance to Dong's army to counter the attack. This had caused Sun Jian's army to begin their retreat. However at one point when Hua Xiong was slaying many of the generals sent by the Alliance and they were all killed, a prominent warrior stood up to volunteer himself to retrieve the head of Hua Xiong. He was no ordinary man, standing at more then 6 feet tall, with a long silky black beard, and has a head of dark skin almost to dark red. He was the famous God of War in Taoism, Guan Yu with his famous weapon "Guan Dao". He stood up to voluteer himself infront of the coalition top generals. All of them broke to laughter, when a mere cavalry archer, Guan Yu stood up to challenge Hua Xiong! Yuan Shao warned him that no jokes are allowed when it comes to military affairs. However Cao Cao proposed that Guan Yu be given a chance to combat. Yuan Shao agreed and proposed a toast to Guan Yu fearing he make not even return alive with his head intact. Guan Yu accepted the toast but put aside the drink saying he will return before the warm wine becomes cold (FYI: The battle of Hu Lao Gate was during the winter solstice, that's why wine are served warm) and he marched out alone with his steed to the battlefield. Minutes later he returned with the head of Hua Xiong hanging around the head of his steed bringing much antonishment from the crowd. His sworn brothers, Liu Bei and Zhang Fei gave a proud smile while standing within the ranks of the army. This act of courage gave chance to Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei to earned a seat among the top generals of the Alliance. After much anticipation and discussion within the Alliance, they manage to go through Lu Yong fort and head towards the famous Hu Lao Gates where they were somehow unprepared to meet the legendary warrior, Gen. Lu Bu. At the gates, Dong Zhuo summoned his foster son, Lu Bu to lead the imperial armies' final showdown against the rebellion. Supreme Commander Yuan order a few of the alliance top generals to combat with Lu Bu. One by one felt to the halberd of Lu Bu causing tremendous fear within the ranks. At one point when Lu Bu was about to slain Gongsun Zan, Zhang Fei who at that time was serving Gongsun Zan, intercepted the battle and blocked the attack from Lu Bu. They fought for about 50 round of clashing weapon untill Guan Yu came riding in with his steed to aid his bother and they fought for another 50 rounds. Finally, Liu Bei came and they made a triangle formation surrounding Lu Bu. Lu Bu being isolated tried to make a breakthrough. He saw the weakness within Liu Bei and make a charge towards his side, forcing Liu Bei to give in. Lu Bu retreated but was away from Hu Lau Gate. Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei returned quickly to the main camp to report of the fall of Lu Bu and the entire coalition comprising of 8 groups made a charged towards Hu Lao Gate. Once in Luoyang, all there was; were fire burning and remains of standing stuctures in ashes. Dong Zhuo had burned the entire city and fled with the people to Chang'an with the emperor to form a new settlement. Due to the weak relationship between the generals, the coalition was dispersed and all return back to their homeland.
Back in Chang'an, Lu Bu had assassinated Dong Zhuo due to a plot orchestrated by minister Wang Yun and the beautiful songstress, Diao Chan. Diao Chan seduced both Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu to set up hostility between the both of them. This caused Li Jue and Guo Si to chased Lu Bu out of Chang'an into the wilderness with Diao Chan. Lu Bu sought refuge at many warlords including Yuan Shao and Liu Bei.
Rise of Cao Cao and The Fall Of The Legendary Warrior, Lu Bu
Back at Xuchang, Cao Cao had abducted the emperor on the means of protecting the royal member from the lights of Dong Zhuo's subordinates. With the emperor beside, he became even more influential in the imperial court. Lu Bu, who had reside in Xiapi castle whom he had stolen from Liu Bei was preparing a showdown with Cao Cao. When Liu Bei lost Xiapi castle to Lu Bu, he had sought help from Cao Cao and now Cao Cao summoned his right-hand man, Gen. Xiahou Dun to make a charge into Xiapi to retake Xiapi castle from Lu Bu. During the fight, Cao Xing, an officer under Lu Bu, took a chance to shoot an arrow at Xiahou Dun's left eye while Xiahou was pursuing Gao Shun, another officer under Lu Bu. Xiahou Dun immedietly drop down from his steed and yelled out of pain. With his courage he pulled out the arrow with the left eye still intact to the arrow and uttered the words "Essence of my father, blood of my mother, I cannot throw this away" thus he swallowed his eye. He rode up on his steed and pick up his weapon, making a charge while bleeding towards Coa Xing and impaled him right in his face causing instance death to Cao Xing. After that battle, Cao Cao realising he ain't going against an ordinary foe, build and personally led his army heading straight to Xiapi castle. Xun You and Guo Jia, both military adviser to Cao Cao proposed to flood the city utilising the two(2) nearby river. This caused the castle to be flooded further demoralised Lu Bu's army. He even resorted to heavy drinking and indulge himself with women. Lu Bu also sent an emmisary with his daughter along to have a marriage with Yuan Shu's son and requesting immediete military aid but was rejected. At one time when he looked himself into the mirror and found out the disgusted look of himself, he made an order banishing all alcoholic drinks within his castle walls. Hou Cheng another official under Lu Bu violated the order while celebrating a victorious ocaasion; caused Lu Bu to thrash him and had him wipped. This caused Hou Cheng to be hostile towards Lu Bu and conspired with other two(2) officials to open the castle walls to allow Cao's army to come in. Lu Bu was arrested and brought forth to Cao Cao and Liu Bei. He tried to pursuade Cao Cao to release him and he will submit to him. Liu Bei interupted to advice Cao the incident happened to Dong Zhuo and Ding Yuan, Lu Bu's first adopted father (Both were assassinated by Lu Bu). Lu Bu retaliated by giving aloud bark at Liu Bei, causing intense displeasure from Cao Cao and he had him strangled to death and finally beheading him as a precaution ending the live of a legendary warrior who was named the "Flying General" at one time ago. Next was to eliminate his long time childhood friend and current arch enemy, Yuan Shao. They met at the battle of Guan Du for an ultimate showdown despite Cao's army being heavily outnumbered by 1-to-10. After the victorious battle against Gongsun Zan , thus eliminating the entire family-line of the Gongsun family, and gain control of the Northern territories, and by using the current momentum of his boosted morale of his army challenged Cao Cao. Cao was commanding 10,000 strong elite soldiers and mechanised cavalry while Yuan's army was having an estimated figure of more then 100,000 unorganised army-infrantry and 10,000 cavalry from the famous "Bai Ma battalion" which consist of riders with archers on white horses (Based on history it was around 70,000). Cao Cao's army was to defend the fort of Bai Ma and Yang Jin, therefore he summoned Xiahou Dun to guard Bai Ma castle, while he and the captured Guan Yu rode to reinforce Yang Jin castle. His son Cao Pi was to ensure the defense of Guan Du main castle wall from the invading Yuan army.By strong military tactics by Cao's regiment, Yuan's enormous army was failed to put to good use resulting the failure of his Guan Du campaign against Cao Cao. Reason for the failure was due to his arrogance, not hearing the advice of potential and experienced military adviser such as Tian Jin and Ju Shou and even throwing them into jail except for Ju Shou who had defected to Cao because he was a classmate of Cao at one time in life. He had amazed Cao because only he knew that Cao's army was short of supply and he tried advising Yuan Shao to garrison an army to launch a suprise attack on Cao's supply-line but was the plan not accepted. He told the secret hideout of Yuan's supply convoy and where it was stocked, Wu Chao. Cao immedietly garrison his crack troops to launch a night raid on Wu Chao. It was a success because the leader guarding the supply area was Gen. Chunyu Qiong who was easily attracted to booze which result the lost of Wu Chao resulting him being immedietly executed upon returning to the main camp and caused the lost of a very worthy general to Yuan Shao, Wen Chao and the lost of two(2) generals, Zhang He and Gao Lan to Cao Cao. This caused chaos and dissaray within the Yuan army. The morale was plundered right before the grand showdown at Guan Du. Yuan Shao immedietly mobilize his top general, Yan Liang to besieged the fortified castle of Bai Ma. He easily cut through Cao's army slaying generals after generals. Cao Cao's military adviser advised him to use Guan Yu while he is a captive in the house of the Caos'. Immedietly Guan rode forth to the battlefield. Cao Cao showed him from afar Yan Liang; who was clad in golden armour. Guan Yu gave an assurance that he'll retrieve the head of Yan to repay the kindness showed to him by Cao Cao. Thus he rode forth on the steed given by Cao Cao who took it from Lu Bu during the siege of Xiapi castle, the famous "Red Hare". With a lightning speed Guan rode down to the battlefield "through" the enemies rank, before Yan Liang could even introduce himself, Guan beheaded him while he's sitting on his horse. Yan's army was left blank seeing their commander slain. Guan just came down on his horse, picked the head of Yan Liang and tied it to his steed's head and rode back to the Cao's line as if there was no army around there. Much to the horror of Yan's army they became chaotic, and Cao used this opportunity to launched the attack slaying many of Yan's remaining army. With the lost of Yuan's two(2) best generals half of the battle had already been won by Cao Cao. Time passes by and the entire 100,000 army of Yuan was destroyed left only a couple of hundreds escaping with him towards his homeland as a defeated man. He end his day shortly after the battle of Guan Du. As time passesby, enemies of Cao was eliminated one by one making him the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty and controlling the the Northern territories and central plains of China while secretly paving the road for the foundation of the future Wei Empire during his son, Cao Pi's reign.
Rise Of The Little Conqueror Of The East, Sun Ce
On the other hand Lord Sun Jian of Changsa had been assasinated by Liu Biao. While Lord Sun Ce, eldest son of Sun Jian began his journey of recruiting generals of all kind into his rank alongside his trustworthy friend, the brilliant young Zhou Yu. He exhanged his father's imperial jade seal that was found among the ashes of Luo Yang city while the campaign against Dong Zhuo for 3000 troops with Yuan Shu. While having the reinforcements, he made a campaign to get a ground of depolyment for his military ambition, eyeing on the harbour of Jiang Dong. He fought with the famous Gen. Taisi Ci during the campaign on a duel which resulted a tie. Taisi Ci realising the potential of Sun Ce, finally submitted himself on the condition that he would be allowed to return to his camp to garner more support for the desertion of ranks. Many officers under Sun doubt that he would return, but Sun gave his assurance that he trust Taisi Ci as a man of great honour after fighting a duel with him. And true to his words, Taisi Ci did returned as reinforcement during one of Sun Ce's battle and greatly aided him to reclaim the land of Wu that would set the foundation of the future Eastern Wu empire. Not long after regaining the land, Sun Ce was succumbed to a weird and mysterious sickness and soon died of it, resulting his brother, the young Lord Sun Quan to take control of the army with the aid of Zhou Yu as the adviser domestically and international affairs.
Searching For The Sleeping Dragon
Liu Bei on the other hand was wondering around to search for a land to start his ambition of uniting the land and regaining the confidence of the Han dynasty. He was a distant uncle to the current Emperor Xian (Held captive under Cao Cao) thus bestowing him the title of Imperial Uncle. On a normal day rounding around his controlled land, Xinye, he met a very unique peron by the name Xu Shu. He was a scholar who was waiting for the right person to serve. After hearing of Liu's ambition he realised that he had found the right guy to serve. He was the military adviser of Liu. So the time to test the ability of Xu Shu arrived when a legion of elite soldier of 5000 crack troops on a full scale invasion on Xinye led by Cao Cao's cousin, Cao Ren from Fan castle. Cao Ren imposed the "Eight Gates to Impregnable Position" formation. Xun Shu saw the weakness of this formation and advised Liu to dispatch Gen. Zhou Yun to make a breakthrough among one of the eight circles formed, while Zhang Fei was sent north to intercept the later retreating Cao Ren's army and Guan Yu to occupy the the empty Fan castle while Cao Ren's army was at war with Xinye. Zhou Yun was later let to guard the newly conquered Fan castle while the rest head back to Xinye. Not ,long later Xu Shu received a letter written by his mother under the captive of Cao Cao. He ask Liu to allow him to leave to save his mother from the clutches of Cao Cao. Cao Cao had actually planned to keep Xu Shu for his ability at military affairs. Liu was advised by Xu to seek out two(2) famous scholar by the name Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong. So Liu Bei seek far and wide to find Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong. Finally he found Pang Tong that was nicknamed the "fledging phoenix". Sooner later he found Zhuge Liang's house. Liu made a historically recorded three(3) times visit to Zhuge's house. Only the last time was he found sleeping in there and was not disturbed eventhough Liu arrived as a guess, much to the disagreement with Zhang Fei and Guan Yu citing Zhuge to be arrogant. Liu adviced them to be patience. Finally Zhuge woke up and chidded his young servant for not calling him when there was a guest in the house. Zhuge immedietly welcomed Liu, Zhang and Guan. Liu explained his ambition to Zhuge, but he was uninterested to politics. After much discussion and he finally believed to Liu Bei's virtuous, he finally submitted to Liu as military adviser. Zhuge explained that the land would once be divided again among three(3) strong dynasty quationg; Wei Empire by the Cao family, Eastern Wu by the Sun family and finally Shu-Han by the Liu family. At first, both Guan and Zhang can't accept this new military advisor because they felt he was too cocky about his capabilities. However, Liu announce a direct order that they both must in anyway submit to the order of the newly appointed military advisor. Cao Cao was told that Liu had acquaired the help of two(2) legendarry strategist; Pang Tong (Fledging Phoenix) and Zhuge Liang (The Sleeping Dragon). Therefore, Xiahou Dun voluteered to tear the armies of Liu with a few thousand of crack troops. Cao permits it but warned that Zhuge is a very intelectual person but Xiahou just chided Cao and promised he will have Zhuge's head, if not he will submit to court marshal resulting immediat execution. At the battle of Bowang slope, Xiahou Dun presses the attack on Liu's territory, Zhuge's response was to sent Zhao Yun as vanguard to cambat Xiahou's army but pretended to retreat after every several rounds, while Zhang Fei and Guan Yu was to led an ambush on Xiahou's later retreating army. Both Zhang and Guan was reluctant to submit but after Zhuge showed them the seal he received from Liu, they were forced to submit. And so Xiahou Dun's army was pressing hard towards Xinye. Marching day and night across dried forest, where his officials adviced him that there could be a fire attack. True to it, Zhuge did plan the fire attact and it was too late for Xiahou's army to response because he was far too ahead of them. Finally he realised the attack, and Zhou Yun was begining to attack him head on. Xiahou combat a few rounds, and Zhou was seen to retreat, his officals addviced of an ambush but Xiahou pay no heed to it. He continued pushing until the flam was to unbearable he was forced to retreat but he had to faced the forces of Guan and Zhang awaiting in ambush. He's troops were severely destroyed forcing to him to escape back to the capital city. After the incident both Zhang and Guan appreciated the use of strategy under the command of Zhuge Liang. Back at Xuchang, Xiahou was freed from marshal punishment under the tutelage of Cao Cao himself, because he already knew that it was a lost battle to confront with. Zhuge Liang fearing that, it may not be the end of Cao's military ambition to squash Liu's existence, adviced Liu to make an escape attempt to seek refuge for the Sun family down south. Liu expressed that he will lead all his people together causing Zhuge Liang to further his trust on Liu's command of restucturing the confidence of the Han empire. This leads to the escape of Chang Ban.
The Escape From Chang Ban
This is where the story of the movie "The three kingdoms: Resurrection fo the dragon" begins. However the story was altered a little showing how Zhou Yun rise from a normal soldier to be one of the "Five Tiger Generals" of Shu in later times. When Liu was planning the long march heading to Chaisang to form an alliance with Sun Quan to make a grand stand against Cao Cao's much larger army while he and his people was charged by Cao Cao's saughtering army. Cao Cao makes every attempt to stop Liu from making an alliancce with the Sun family being feared he mayby outnumbered enlisted his top elite troops under the lead of many of his top generals including him. Days and night they marched to catch up with Liu. Finally Liu's people was forced to take a rest, and it was this time reports from scout that the Cao army was just a few kilometres away causing fear and chaos. During this chaos that Liu got separated from his two(2) wives and his only son, Liu Chan who was still only a few months old. Zhao Yun made an attempt to rescue his lord's heir and consort. He soley marched out with his trusted steed and spear. Searching wide and low for the young one. Finally he came across a village, he ask the whereabouts of the two(2) ladies and Liu Chan. Finally he met Lady Gan among the lost people he gave directions to her to follow back her husband, Liu and he continued to find Lady Mi and the infant, Liu Chan. Finally he found them in a savaged building. Unfortunately Lady Mi can't walked due to a serious injury of her leg. She told Zhou to take care of Liu Chan's life at all cost and he throw herself into the well because fearing that she might be a liability for Zhao to handle while escaping the clutches of Cao's elite army (in the movie they were all slaughtered except Liu Chan). True to it, Zhao did make an attempt to escape but was scouted by Cao's forces. They charged on Zhao, and he gave a formidable fight. Defending the young infant at all cost and finally escaping to a valley where he stole one of Cao Cao's famous sword, "Qinggang Sword" and made a leap to the other side. After he realised that the young infant was still alive, he made a mockery out of Cao Cao. Cao was initially adviced by his advisor the identity of the warrior in combat and he called his army not to killed him but to capture him alive but they failed. Zhao Yun was said to have charged himself through a million armies of Cao while attempting to escape. The Cao army did not give up but remain chasing Zhou Yun, untill he reaches near a bridge that he saw Zhang Fei guarding it. He called Zhang Fei to help him counter the Cao army as he was holding Liu Chan and his horse had been very tired already. Zhang gave and assurance and took contol of the bridge, when the Cao army arrived including Cao Cao himself, Zhanf made a famous quote "I am Zhang Fei of Yan, come if anyone dares to challenge me till death". At that particular point it was said that Cao's army trembeled in fear until one of his general fall to his death from his horse. Cao Cao looking into the eyes of Zhang knowing and suspecting that there might be an ambushed retreated. Zhang took the initiative to destroy the bridge and returned to report to Liu. In there, Zhou Yun present his son, Liu Chan, and Liu Bei throw his son down saying that his son was useless to cause a near sacrifice of a very capable general, refering to Zhao Yun. Liu chided Zhang for destroying the bridge because this shows that we are affraid of Cao for being outnumbered. True to it the next day Cao Cao came and ordered the Chang Ban bridge to be fix immediatly. (In the movie, after Zhou left Cao Cao, his niece Cao Ying sworned that one day he'll defeat Zhou Yun and the incident where Liu throw his son down was not shown). After the long march Liu met Liu Qi, Liu's adopted son. Later on the road, Guan Yu was seen arriving with reinforcements and thousands of ship to escort Liu and his people to meet Sun Quan to form the alliance under the advice of one of Sun's advisor and diplomat, Lu Su. Liu sent Zhuge as an envoy to Eastern Wu to forge an alliance with them for a grand showdown with Cao Cao's huge and gigantic armada in the upcoming of the battle of Chi Bi (Known aas the battle of Red cliff in the upcoming movie by Zhang Yimou). (However the meeting of Lu Su was not covered in the movie much to my dissapointment). The movie straight brought up who were the "5 Tiger Generals of Shu" ; Guan Yu as the leader, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong. Then straight to the time when Zhao was at the age to 71 till is fictitious death battling Cao Ying. Not fun at all.
Anyway the story is still a long way more to go. I can go on and on cause its a very long story. I can even directly orally tell you the story at the spot because its already in my head for so long. I can even do this for my oral test during form 4 and form 5 but I guess all of you will be dozing off already. You see! what I treasure in this story is the values that it brings up. Unwaving loyalty, military strategy implementations, the use of useless people, the method to easily manage an empire and the conspiracy behind all these. This are what i treasure most in this story which can somehow be associated with out current government and also in our society. Elected representative do not show any unwaving loyalty to either the political parties or even the voters who had voted them. All they care was their own privilage. Sometime, politicians can take advantage on us voters but certainly not to an extent of how we are now. BN and UMNO can say they want to reengineer or rebrand themselves back to proper track but I tell you all this, "its too late already", once done is done, BN had broked the trust given to them for the past 50 years. It implies the same thing in working life. First impression is always the most important towards your potential employers. Image comes first. Spoiling ones image means blackening ones future. So the same in politics. It would take eternal to regain the lost trust of the people.
Interestingly that our government had been pushing racial unity in the country but they themselves practice racial division of political parties. In school, we always hear about "Persatuan Agama Cina"; "Persatuan Agama Islam"; "Christian Fellowship";"Persatuan Agama Hindu" and so forth. Have you ever wonder why there wasn't any "Persatuan Masyarakat Malaysia"? Even in our schooling days where people says that it was the best time to mould a person. So if racial division begins in school, what sort of rubbish is BN saying for unity of all races. It does bring to light a proper Malay proverb "Ketam mengajar anknya berjalan lurus". Literally meaning: A handicapped person teaching his handicapped child to be not handicap. BN itself is a racially divided party so how can they urge us to be united when they from time to time infuriate the people of Malaysia with their racial sentiments, such as those uttered by nearly every Youth Chief of UMNO? HOW does that helps? With their slogans for defending the Malay rights, is seems to be useless towards the newer and younger generations. The newly adopted slogan by Pakatan Rakyat, "People's rights" is already slowly being accepted. The will of PAS to joint DAP and PKR during the recent election clearly shows the willingness of them to collaborate. If PKR proved to be a successfull multiracial part, then neither DAP or PAS would seem relevent anymore. If we can all fall under one umbrella, why not be that way.
Besides that, the Romance of the three kingdoms also, show the power and influence of the military regime can achieve. Look at how Myanmar was dictated. Senior Gen. Tan Shwe utilising military power to control the gorvernment of Myanmar. By controlling the military, one can do mirracles. Coup d'état is used to overthrow former premier, Thaksin Shinatwatra ruling government with the consent from King Bhumibol Adulyadej. In Thailand one can never in any circumstances insult the King in anyway because the country practices the law of Lèse majesté. This law rules out the punishment for inciting hatred or insult towards the royal family. Do Malaysia practices it?? One way or the other, however our former premier, Dr. Mahathir never even cared about the Lèse majesté of our country. If a Sultan was found opposing him, he'll just change the Consitution and strip the title of all Sultans thus officially ending the Sultanate of Malaysia, bringing forth the title of Presidentship which I doubt he will not take the post. The interesting part is I supports him if he were to abolish the Sultanate of Malaysia. I admit I'm against any form of Monarchial rule. To me its outdated already. Yea, mayby your great grand ancestors achieved many miraculous things but thats like I...wonder couple decades back. Anyhow, all our Sultans does is only holding directorship in many huge companies somemore receiving payment from the government and all from tax-payers monies. Useless form of investments by the government. Anyway here some photos taken while my family made a trip down to Kuala Selangor to catch a view of the "Fireflies" or better known as "Kelip-kelip". I expected the turnout of this fireflies to exorbitant less due to pollution, development and etc. la. This is my second time going there after more then 10 years ago when the fireflies population was gigantic. They cover the trees even better then Christmas lights. Now onyl a few trees seen to be a resting place for the fireflies. The boatman said the reduction of it is because of the fast flow of current that shakes the mangrove trees so the fireflies would not reside on those trees that are moving. Only trees that are somehow stable only got fireflies. Then we further question him whether there got Buaya anot. He said "Yes" he saw a couple of time already. Luckily he said that when we were about to docked near the jetty. What the hell man if he said that right before we start our 20 minutes journey to catch fireflies. I will immediately ask him to turn back eventhough he said for 76 years of operating the scenic business, no "incident" occur before. Hey man you'll never know when this crocodile jokers might set a coup d'état to gobble us all up all of a sudden. I ain't ending my life as a crocodile midnight supper. FREAK!!. Dahlah the sampan was damn low. What the heck...crocodile....sick man! Anyway had a very good seafood dinner. Tried some unique seafood. Check the pictures below due.(P/S: I think so far this is the longest post ever and if you dudes managed to "read all of the above untill here". I salute you man)
This is at the Firefly jetty, Kampung Kuantan is the name of the firefly jetty although we are certainly not in anywhere near Kuantan, more to be in Kuala SelangorTasteless unless dipped into the chilli padi paste provided to add spice on it cause it really taste nothing, tawar la.
Woow...freaking nice...the beauty of sceneries taking my favourite.

I think its called Bamboo prawn or lutong if I'm not mistaken, ate alot of times but can't really recall the name of it.

Some monkey fooling itself la up there
The weird creature is called a mantis prawn or in cantonese "Lai Liu Har". From what the extend of my knowledge in Cantonese, it directly translate to "Pissing Prawn". Why the hell they name it so, I hope I noe. On the right is your ordinary crab.
This is what I'm talking about "Belangkas" was holding by its thorny tail. Freaking hrad shell.
