Fucking pissed off with idiotic humanoid
I begin spreading the message through facebook and sms-es as I was the official organiser, regardless you fucked people agreed to it or not.
On the other hand E did mention privately to me, that I was wasting my time to organise this reunion as this class is a shit class. I took no hid to his advice as I BELIEVED people would change and this time could be a well planned out gathering.
So i sent the message "5 Cekap gathering at Midvalley on the 24th January 2009 at 12 p.m" invitation to (It was one week before the scheduled gathering):
-Yi Jien
-Foong Ang
-Ross
-Wai Chien
-Da Qiang
-Izzah
-Zheng Joo
-Sze Luan
-Hui Wen
-Elisa
-Denise
-Evelyn
-Melissa
-Hsiao Yinn
-Chin Yin
-Diana
-Joel
-Lesley
-Deepa
-Logan
-Wai Tseung
Those replied:
Foong Ang; Ross; Sze Luan; Hui Wen; Hsiao Yinn (through Hui Wen); Elisa; Denise; Melissa; Chin Yin; Diana; Lesley, Logan, Wai Tseung and Deepa.
Those that commited going:
Foong Ang; Ross; Sze Luan; Elisa and Diana
Those that didn't replied, I tried communicating through other channels; sms and also ask those replied to help me contact them.
Ross was to handle Elisa, Diana, Khairul & Adham if he meets them at mosque for Friday prayers
Joanne was to handle Da Qiang and Joel
The rest is me.
Finally, twelve (12) people confirmed.
Then I sent a msg to those coming to inform them to meet at McDonald's Midvalley at 12 p.m sharp on the 24th January on 22nd and 23rd of January.
On the 22nd January, I told B on msn to be at McDonald's, Midvalley at 12 p.m. AndOn B's reply was "Sry I can't go coz balik kampung early"
On the 23rd January I send the massive msg "24th January Midvalley at 12 pm, meet at McDonald's", C called to say would be busy helping grandma make cookies so can't make it and also due to the denggi outbreak. I message Lesley to remind as required by her.
On the 24th January, E and Ross tried calling me last night but I was asleep result of exhaustion while working. Hurry make a call to them. Then called A, was told A was suffering food poisoning, therefore can't go.
Some didn't reply my message through facebook and sms-es whether can go or not.
I was adviced by E and Ross to cancel it due to lack of response.
Finally I drew the line to called it cancel.
Foong Ang received it well, Sze Luan was dissappointed, Joanne Loke received it well and I assumed Da Qiang received it well, Elisa recieved it well.
I'm sorry to the above mentioned, as I had wasted your time in hoping this reunion would run sucessfully. After that I sent a massive message to those concerned that the gathering is "OFFICIALY CANCEL due to lack of participation".
My frustration lies at two (2) points, number one is non-replying attitude. Number two (2) was B's attitude and finally C's attitude.
(1) Melissa and Chin Yin replied me on late 23rd January; some people NEVER reply my message, many people didn't bother replying my message on facebook.
(2) If I didn't message B on msn to remind coming on 24th January to Midvalley at 12 pm and meet at McDonald, B would had kept mum that B can't make it due to balik kampung early and I would be assuming B would come after committing it during the initial msn planning session
(3) C was no different than B, if I didn't message, B thought the gathering was cancel, as B's first sentence was "Thum, the gathering still on ah cause I got things to do"
For issue two (2) and three (3) was a total fucked up reason, because you two committed during the initial msn conversation and agreed to that date as per mentioned. You two were 2 of the 6 initiators of this plan!. Canceling your participation would be no problem to me but AT LEAST you could tell me and NOT ONLY tell me when I ask. Where the fuck is your sense of responsibility!? I have a responsibility to ensure everyone receive my message well. When it was canceled, my most prioritised worry was if anyone was left stranded at Midvalley not knowing the reunion had been canceled, and that was Deepa and Denise. I sent messages through facebook asap at 8.15 a.m. in the morning. I made sure everyone got the message through sms-es asap as I was shit worried. How many replied? Handfull only replied and that made me even more worried. A's food posioning was unexpected therefore wasn's A's fault at all as Ross was supposed to pick up A IF the plan were to run on course.
The most hated part was issue one (1), unreplied messageS, regardless through online facebook or sms-es. Communication is very very important. One's reply could change everything. Where the fuck is you're responsibility?! If you can't even reply a message through sms, don't fucking bother have a handphone!!!!!
I really thought everyone grew up for the last two (2) years to be more responsible and prioritise accordingly. I was stupid enough to trust that, E was totally right for the fact that 5Cekap would remain a null and void class till the end.
Throughout this issue only two (2) person assisted and keep continuing updating me on issues regarding the 5Cekap reunion and that is Bay Shing Shen and Ross Ariz bin Mazli. Thank you so much but unfortunately our effort lie wasted at the hands of idiots.
To my 5 Cekap classmates who contributed to the cancelation of this 5 Cekap reunion, three words from me,
"Screw you all!!"
If there is a gathering I'll do it for my close friends, they are Bay, Ross, Adrian, Ji Yung and Logan. I am damn proud to have them because they are damn dependable upon.
To 5Cekap:
"GO TO HELL LA!!!!"
For that I'll say: I GIVE UP!

Paradoxical End Of The Oil Age
Now back to the oil context. The price of oil had suffered a sharp decline once more (now future trading for the month of February is at USD 35.40 per barrel on the NEw York Merchantile Exchange) despite the heroic efforts by the OPEC to slash production by 4.2 millions of barrels per day. The problem with oil demand lies at the disposable income structure of consumers. America provides the largest demand for most of the global output, whether they are from China or internally manufactured. That is why China is yet to be qualified to take over America as the economical powerhouse of the world, the spending factor of Chinese is still lower compare to Americans thus not being able to generate the huge demand required. In normal terms, the chinese are still not willing to spend as much as the Americans. Which one way is good and bad the other way. Because of Americans usual lavish spending, they tend to spend more then what they can afford. They even took up loans to finance their buying lust. This lust finally turn into the sub-prime mortgage crisis (i.e. low-doc crisis) which now drags the whole world into economic meltdown. OPEC has no longer control of the oil price (they can't control when it was skyrocketing, neither now can they control when it's free falling). The USD 147 per barrel had shaked the very foundation that builds the demand structure for oil and gas globally. Consumers are now reducing their dependency on oil, but slowly they will switch to other energy alternatives, so long as economical growth is projected into the well being of the consumers. We need to grow, so if oil can't sustain our growth then other viable source of energy might provide the necessities to jump-start the growth back. Oil is cheaper than water in the early era of the oil age. The cost of pumping out one (1) barrel of oil from the ground of Iraq cost only USD 1. The additional cost are all production cost (e.g. distilling).
All it takes is one major crisis that would cause a domino effect to break the dependency attitude towards oil. And the crisis has occurred, causing people to switch to other substitutes (e.g. hydroelectric, bio fuels) . To simplify my justification, consumers are afraid to spent unwisely with commodities that are exposed to uncontrollable fluctuations. To say the least, the oil age is coming to an end!

5 Cekap 2006 Seafield reunion for the year 2009

A reunion would be held on the 24th January 2009 at Midvalley Megamall, approx. 12 p.m. Please make a slot available in your busy schedule as this is once in a year occasion. The date was selected based on the assumption that most of you all would be having the Chinese New Years break as it falls on the 26th of January, therefore should be back home in time for the reunion. Please if possible, do provide some feedback on what to do on that day besides going for a decent lunch together on the same table and catching up with each others life since leaving school two (2) years ago.
Currently, the plans for the day are :
(1) Bowling
(2) Karaoke
The people who are confirmed:
(1) Me
(2) Li Jen
(3) Joanne Loke
(4) Kuan
(5) Bay
(15/36 friends coming so far)
(Will update when more feedbacks and participation are contributed)
P/S Please make it a great reunion and not like the other reunions where people split up at the sight of each other (guys vs ladies).
On top of that please do spread the news to all 5C friends. Do some marketing people!!
Kind regards.

Mark-to-market Disclosure Ensuring Confidence Rebuilding In Accounting Stewardship

On the other side of the argument, by implementing the mark-to-market rule to every company regardless of their previous corporate governance methodology, we could weed out those companies that aren't genuinely having the stated market capitalisation. In other words, we can eliminate fraudulent companies. The greatest example of it is ENRON. The next of keen to that position is Lehman Brothers. Commercial papers were mark-to-market causing substantial losses in Lehman's derivatives exposures, which ultimately causes the fall of the 150 years financial institution. It also tells off the corrupted governance of previous financial giants, such as Barclays of United Kingdom and Bear Sterns of America.
The picture above is from an email I received. The entire email show the wonderful picture of mother nature taken from various countries. This particular struck my mind because it was the only picture that I had ever taken that gave me more inspiration to start taking scenic pictures. The place stated in the email was 'scenery of Europe' but to be precise its Salzburg, Austria. I went there before and the view is exactly the same. If you closely at the bridge there was where I stood to take a shot of the long river with both banks filled with medieval age buildings. I was surprised czuse all the while I thought pictures forwarded through mails are usually photoshop products, but this one blew of my mind. It was real and if given the chance, I'll head back there for a second time. I'll ty to find the picture I took back then to compare with this picture. It's 99.99% the same view, especially the blue sky. Wonders of the world. Wow!
IJN survives from another stupid government proposal.

KUALA LUMPUR: Plantation giant Sime Darby Bhd has withdrawn its bid to privatise the National Heart Institute (IJN), a move that effectively relieves the cabinet from reversing its earlier approval of the proposal.
In an announcement to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the conglomerate said it decided not to pursue the plan after taking into consideration the public sentiment and feedback received since its proposal was made public on Dec 18.
“Sime Darby would nevertheless continue to look for opportunities for expansion in the healthcare sector,” the company said.
Last Dec 17, The Edge Financial Daily had reported that Sime Darby had expressed its interest to privatise IJN. The following day, the company announced that the government had, in principle, approved its plan to acquire a 51% stake in IJN.
The announcement was greeted with a huge public outcry, drawing criticism from various quarters, despite Sime Darby coming out to assure the public that the social obligations of IJN would not be affected in any way by the proposed privatisation.
Even Sime Darby’s chairman Tun Musa Hitam, who rarely comments on the business proposals of the company, came out to state that the privatisation of IJN would not burden poor patients and pensioners as those requiring medical attention were always given priority. Musa said Sime Darby spent about RM3 million annually at its Subang Jaya Medical Centre for needy patients, including heart cases.
But public sentiment against the proposal was overwhelming, forcing the government to relook at the proposal, just two days after the cabinet had given its green light.
On Dec 19, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that the government had decided to defer the decision on the matter pending further study. He said that the finance and health ministries, and the Economic Planning Unit would conduct an in-depth study before the government decides on its privatisation.
The finance ministry owns IJN via its 99.99% stake in IJN Holdings.
Najib had then dismissed suggestions that the cabinet decision had something to do with the Kuala Terengganu by-election.
Critics of the privatisation were primarily concerned that a privatised IJN would deprive civil servants of the almost-free medical treatment they enjoy now while non-civil servants would end up paying higher charges.
Civil servants pay a nominal fee of RM1 not just at IJN but also at all government hospitals for treatment.
There were also issues raised as to why a profitably run heart centre needs to be privatised.
IJN posted a revenue of RM287.3 million last year, up 11.7% from RM257.5 million in 2006, according to filings with the Companies Commission of Malaysia. However, net profit was lower at RM13.6 million against RM22 million previously.
Since its establishment, IJN has earned a reputation as a leading centre for cardiac care in the region. It has treated well over a million patients, including former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
