Last words

Last words uttered by the deceased from China's massive earthquake:

"I'm so hungry. I want to eat dirt." - Uttered by 10-years-old Fan Quanyan, dug out from the debris of Qunshan Primary School in Beichuancountry. Having survived nearly 60 hours under the rubble, she died just 10 minutes after her rescue.

"My dear baby, if you get to live you must remember I love you" - The last SMS a young woman from the heavily struck city of Dujiangyan wrote on her mobile. She was found dead on May 13, a day after the earthquake, in a kneeling position shielding under her body a 3-month-old baby.

"You must be strong. You have to think about our daughter and how to steer her on the right path. Should she stray, it will be lost." - The last word spken by Xi Tianxu's husband before dying half an hour later. Husband and wife were trapped when the dormitory of the Agriculture Bank in Beichuan country collapsed. Xi, 46, survived for another three days. She had to amputate her own legs to be pulled from the ruins by rescuers

"Daddy, I'm right here, please save me!" - Words whispered by student Li Ziguo between the cracks of collapsed concrete slab of Beichuan Middle School. Rescuers had managed to save 30 of Li's classmates but when they finally reached him, Li stopped breathing.

Act of nature..., justifiable? You do the judging. I've no more words to speak of it.
