End of Badawi-ism

Special thanks to the 5th Prime Minster of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for providing the avenue to the rakyat to have an open and independent sight of the word democracy. His failure at administrating/governing the nation has facilitated the ongrowing growth of awareness in relation to human rights and proper disclosure of government facts. It may be harsh, however to root out the rotten apples should be done swiftly to avoid a plague from getting out of control. Nevertheless, an antitode for one man, may be a posion for another.

General Election, so what? Back to same old' shit!

My physical body may be in Australia but from time to time on a daily basis I do browse through our local newspaper web page, The Star Online. Political hyped up again as the UMNO General Assembly Meeting commences on the 24th March 2009 till 26th March 2009. Well let me redefine the word 'everyone'. First and foremost I bet no one in their rightful mind cares about the upcoming UMNO internal general election, although in exact we're looking at the selection process of a future Prime Minister or to be more precise, the handing over of power between current Premier to his successor. There is no difference between now and after the handing of power. Nothing to be anticipated about. No revolution, no reformation, whatsoever compared to the previous handing of power ceremony between Mahathir Mohammad and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. During that time, people in general as in the working classes are hoping for a new era of heavy reduction in corruption among the bureaucracy of our administration. Reduction of red tape, and so forth, but unfortunately Abdullah himself had landed his ass in the hotpot after the 12th General Election. According to some statistic which I can't really prove because I can't find it but I'd certainly read it couple of days ago, that 65% of the Malaysian population do not agree that Najib bin Razak would function as a good Premier. As they say, he may have excellent pedigree lineage or we call it 'blue blood", from having a father and an uncle both being former Prime Minister before and a younger cousin as the current Education Minister, yet he lacked the primary drive to further push his position upwards in the eyes of many rakyat and that is people's support. I placed my bet that the upcoming three by-elections would be swoop up by the oppositions, unless some hanky-panky happening. Which ever, I am never proud of my nation's caretaker (a.k.a. government). Speaking of that who does? Bruno, Marco, and Ellena from Italy hated their government, especially their Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi. Ellena once told me "We're never proud of our government, especially Berlusconi". And my reply "I'm also never proud of my government". Romain aspirant to be a future politician, currently studying Master of Political Science, stress that he never really bother the work of his President, Nicolas Sarkozy. Eddie Moore from Bendigo, Australia, hated their previous government under the leadership of John Howard. According to him, he's the worst Prime Minister Australia had ever had. Justifiable with the tremendous humiliation at the loss of a general election. The Australian government under the Rudd administration is just slightly better. Eddie stresses that, he doesn't agree with the remark and programmes of Kevin Rudd to curb global warming because it gives privilege to the industry players which ultimately means giving them opportunity to pollute the environment, which is back to square one again. Over the years, democracy may just be a form of government that is slightly better than Dictatorship or Monarchy rule. However the case, we can never satisfy everyone with one solution.

For a moment of thinking, I kind of thank Dr Santha for teaching and grilling us on citation and referencing when we're back doing SAM at Taylors. She will usually get so boiled up, when we can't cite correctly. The horror in her class, but then again we manage to pull through. S7 people can tahan punya from harsh treatments. HAHA!

Funny day.

Long day today. Many happenings occurred today, especially the political landscape in Perak. It was a dawn of a total new era for Malaysian politics again. The support is now directly shine towards Pakatan Rakyat. Without a doubt, the recent political turmoil or so-called master-minded strategy adopted by Barisan Nasional was a suicide mission. Three assemblyman quite PKR and insist of becoming independents, despite several calls for them to reconsider their ouster. Regardless, Barisan National now commands the majority of the State Assembly. Legitimately adhering to the Constitution, Barisan Nasional is indeed the ruling state government of Perak, however the forced resignation of Mr. Nizar as Mentri Besar wasn't included in the Constitution, therefore amount to illegitimacy by an objective view. Yet, it is of no reason for me to go against the royal decree, because Sultan Azlan Shah had made the move which he was bounded to make. Am I insulting the Sultan by addressing him, "he". Sorry, this is a democratic country, and we're just practicing Constitutional Monarchy which support the Westminster Parliament ways of administrating this country. What I meant was, even though the people of Perak (also known as Perakians) requested dissolution of the State Government to trigger a state election to re-elect Pakatan Rakyat with a much larger majority, it would be futile with the current condition. Obviously, Barisan Nasional commands the majority, therefore one of them must be the Mentri Besar. The State Assembly can't be dissolve without a proper and legitimate reason. The Sultan can't dissolve the State Assembly just because the people wants it. No where in the Constitution was stated anything about switching political parties while being elected, therefore amounted to void if simply accusing it to be illegal. There was precedence of this matter many years back and the Sultan was just taking the same equal steps. Pakatan Rakyat can't amend the Constitution unless it commands two-third of the majority of the Parliament. The only method to confront this problem is by hoping the two defected state assemblyman will be acquitted with corruption charges, therefore forcing them to resign instantaneously, ultimately requiring a by-election for the two places. No doubt Pakatan will win hands down. Making the numbers to rise to 30 against Barisan's 28 and one independent that supports Barisan. With that, the newly installed Mentri Besar, Mr Nizar (presumably) could request a dissolution of the State Government for a state election which guarantees a wholesome victory for the Pakatan Rakyat, thus finishing Barisan of from Perak.

Anyway, it was a great day today. Went to Adrian's house at 9.30 a.m. to gamble. Among those attend: Hsiao Yinn (for obvious reason), Ross, Ji Yung and Eve Lyn. Overall winner, Ji Yung reaping RM20 and Eve Lyn, not sure amount. I loss nearly RM12. I think Hsiao Yinn loss the most. After that we went to USJ9, Restaurant Nirvana to have some banana leaf rice. After lunch, Hsiao Yinn headed to work, Eve back home, Ji Yung class, Ross didn't join us for lunch, while me and Adrian headed to Pyramid for a movie: The Pink Panther 2. Worth watching.

The Jackass of The Century

Simple strategy to trick complex minds, unfortunately, flawed by numerous angles. I had a good laugh at the future Prime Minister. In fact, I believe he had let go the urge to even be the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia, but that's not the only thing he will loose, more to come. He knew this move is a suicide mission, however it will still grant him sufficient time to turn the nation upside down. Continuing raping the country's wealth. Everyone is able to read his moves, no point writing it here. It's understood by all who speaks Bahasa Melayu. We're not dumb for the fact. Just remember the Trojan Horse strategy applied by the Greeks to bring down the Trojan Wall.

The funny thing is, they're not educated

I'm delighted to announce I had officially ended my final exam for semester 2 and next stop Monash, Caufield. Not the best choice but its better to have it than not having it besides I've heard I can still transfer to Monash, Clayton in the following semester. It seems that I'm so obsessed with Monash, Clayton. Well the truth is yes I am obsessed with it and I do have the right to be obsessed with it. Monash, Clayton is the flagship of the entire Monash campuses. The reason Monash University is held among the top 50 best universities in the world is also mostly due to Monash, Clayton. Anyway the final paper for today business law (BTW1200) was surprisingly fairly easy. Mayby because it was an open-book paper. My right hand palm is feeling hurt currently because I've been writing and studying since Monday at 5pm till Wednesday 12pm consecutively as I was preparing my notes for bussiness law. It was an open-book (i.e included self-made notes) exam so why want to commit suicide by not preparing any notes. Bring what ever that can bring in for the exam la. You know why I'm still talking about my finals although I did tremendously bad for finance and not so good for other papers as well when normally a reasonable and ordinary undergraduate student or even normal secondary school student would keep shut after the exam when it was done fairly badly? well thats because I'm not satisfied with the way and effort I had contributed druing the exam time. You see some people calls it an irritation or long winded because what is done is done but let me put it this way; if with that particular 'tidak apa' attitude becomes a norm in our daily life than that would be dangerous wouldn't it. Its not a matter of being long winded or what because the way i see it, it is essential to show some concern of something in life but also not to show for the sake of showing for it must be genuine. You put in so much effort in the beginning and then after the exam you go say "I don't want to care anymore". Doesn't it takes away all the credit from all the hardwork poured into it from yourself by yourself. Sounds pretty stupid to me. If you;ve done well than be glad if not, than start doing a post-mortem of it. Can't just let it there and depend whether luck is playing on your side of the game. Come'on grow up and take up some solid responsibility. Luck is NOT always there. No harm doing a post-mortem even if it may sound quite disturbing to know how bad you've done in the exam but thats the price for not doing what you're supposed to do when there was opportunity to do so. I'm NOT A BELIEVER of any religion. Its by law that I'm considered a Christian and NOT by faith. I believe in a world where what ever happens to me is a result of my own doing whether its positively or negatively and it applies to everyone else the way I see it. I do something I'll take the blame and the credit for it. That's a fact of life for me. Like it or not that's the way. Some people say they don't care what people say as long they like it. Well let me tell them this; go ahead with that attitude because I swear you won't get employed by any employer in this world. Who they think they are not to consider other people's feelings and point of view. Maybe you can say that when you're a secondary student but not a primary student (Because that would be dangerous) or an adult. Working or being employed is all about image, and once that image is tarnished then you're no different than dead. Image dictates what others think of us. If they consider us highly, than we will get what we deserve. Imagine if your attitude is but of an asshole's attitude and is well-known by many, man! I certainly won't hire you even if you're smart ass and I doubt other will as well. To those who are unawakened yet, then let me welcome you to the world. Its undeniably a fact, you can't just walk out there and start pointing the vulgar finger (i.e. middle finger) to everyone. Is that what you called "I don't care what people thinks of me as long as I like it". If so than I expect to see some broken limbs. The fact is don't be an idiot and follow what others that said they care less of other peoples' point of view or give no consideration to others just because they like doing something. It's a well-known fact that people loves to follow other people's action. That fella say something cool then they follow but not noticing that the fella they were following is an asshole also. Please don't be stupid and follow stupid moves.

Anyway its great news to hear Barack Obama is the new President-elect of the United States of America. He deserves my standing ovation after all the things he did to secure his current position. Look at the way he did those debates. Ever wonder why our nation's highest position never goes through that? I think if we were to implement it, than our politicians population will be a quarter of what we have now may be lesser. Do you think Najib can go for debate? Do you think physically and logically he can? or can Bung Mokhtar and Karpal Singh argue in a more gentlemen way? Its physically impossible man; its like asking the sky to drop down a whole sea of money. Imagine Najib debating with Lim Kit Siang. My word to Najib, "he's gonna woop your ass". They just can't do it. Not educated the way we wanted them to be. Najib is not a Prime Minister for Malaysia, he's a leader of UMNO. We didn't vote for him, those UMNO goons did and it was for party election not prime ministership election. The silent majority is just keeping their finger cross, as if they do support Najib to be Prime Minister. AS IF!!!!!!

Benjamin Thum Chun Hon's 19th Birthday

Its 3.44 a.m. on the 19th October 2008. Can't sleep yet! Why? Was overwhelmed by the surprises given by my super, cool, awesome buddies. They crash into my house to give me a surprise birthday celebration. Thats right they crash into my house at 12.00 a.m. on the 19th October 2008!! That would be the last thing I'll ever thought off at 12.00 a.m. How wonderful they are? Too wonderful!! Don't know what really need to write yet, this simple short post is dedicated to all those who had participated to organise this special celebration whether directly or indirectly, well wishes from msn, handphone messages, etc. THANK YOU ALL!!! If I were to be transfered to Australia next year, definitely there would be a permanent big place in my mind for all of you guys. Wei Liang, Melisa Seo, Esther Ng, Nicholas Lam, Andrew Lee, Jerry Yap, Chen Siang, Tom Yam, Daniel Lau, Chieh Ai, Jo Wee, Yong Hao, Kar Kien, James Chai, Logananth, Alexander Tan, Carryn Tan, Lesley Tan, Nick Chew, Pei Chern, Chou Xie, Adrian Lim, Sze Luan, Kumar, Gun Wei Chye and others. Appreciate all of it!

Now though its my B'day, as how Melisa put it, me last birthday as a teen with a number one in the front (next would be 20 adi), I'll still criticise this MCA (Used to be referred as Malaysian Chinese Assosiation), but now I've no idea what they're are called. The election just ended,we knew who won. Was expected but then again; "What can a few useless guys winning a useless organisation achieve?"

With all the published news in The Star newspaper, how many people actually took the time to read, i skipped all those useless news. Financial news or other relevant news should be put forth before this immaterial election. But they'll never do it cause MCA owned a huge stake in The Star Newspaper mah.

Act of stupidity

Raja Petra Kamarudin being detained under ISA. I can understand due to his outspoken attitude. But to detain an innocent journalist who is just doing her job is totally absurd to the highest order. How can you expect others to do their job properly if they are constantly harass by the draconian law; moreover this revolves around the exertion of freedom of press that was constantly highlighted by the Prime Minister and Information Minister prior the the 12th General Election. The thing that boggles my mind or even everyones' mind is that having known the popularity level of the Barisan regime is at all time low, why are they continuing to poke the hornets nest. They are directly accelerating the coming of the 16th September take-over by Anwar Ibrahim. What are they thinking? Has all resources been outsource to regain the popularity of the rakyat or they are just plain stupid. A reasonable person or in this case; a reasonable government would certainly take precaution steps to not increase the hatred flame of the rakyat. I've read the MalaysiaToday's website and one particular sentence in one article stole my attention. RPK stated that "...ask the Malays in the opposition to come out in defence of their non-Malay brothers and sisters and warn the Umno Malays, in no uncertain terms, that they take to the streets at the risk of facing fellow Malays from the opposition who will defend their non-Malay brethren to the last drop of their blood. I, for one, am ready to stand by my Chinese and Indian comrades. So let Umno be warned" (Hari Reformasi, The Day Of A New Dawn, MalaysiaToday). I respect him for that. At first, after the 12th General Election result, I was sceptical whether Anwar Ibrahim have the capacity to take-over the government by 16th September 2008 as he had constantly claimed even to the internation reporting medias. Since the arrest of Ms. Teresa Kok, MP of Seputeh for been alleged to have commented on the azan prayers around Seputeh and the abrupt arrest of Ms. Tan Hoon Cheng, the journalist who covered the story of Ahmad's racial slurs during the Permatang Pauh by-election ceramah, I am now convince certainly that Anwar Ibrahim would have to mount a take-over action at all cost necessary. Its no longer the government of the people, the tipping point had been reached. Whether Prime Minister Badawi was aware of such action being taken out without proper documentation from the Home Ministry, the issue had been made into an issue. Another thing which I've read from MalaysiaToday website not long ago, that UMNO doesn't really have the three (3) million supporters it claimed to have, which ultimately prove to be an expected situation looking at the current political landscape. Let me be honest here, at times when I watch the news regarding an UMNO member being accused of something (i.e. Ahmad) and it was reported that supporters of his are requesting the issue to be closed, it immediately strike my mind that "those supporters must have been his cronies or not who the hell would support such obvious issue". To me, its not the matter of being a decedent of immigrants or receiving equal rights, but it is the method he portrayed his belief in such demonising manner, especially those coming out from a politician. If he wants to belief in such thoughts, then be my guess but provided he is not a politician because being a politician requires some certain protocol being practiced and he had definitely violated it. Taking for example former premier, Mahathir who loudly from time to time criticises the Malays for loosing out to the other races; well I don't mind if that is his thought because he is just a normal rakyat of Malaysia just like you and me. There are no protocols for him to follow. Having said that, in my opinion and perhaps the opinion of my fellow Malaysians; Ahmad should have been sacked and not merely suspended for three (3) years and be shoved into the Kamunting detention centre under Section 73(1) of the ISA for being a real treat to the nation as a whole. I sympathises the Barisan National regime for constant failure to put out the flaming hatred of the rakyat. What ever had the Prime Minister tried to do; including eliminating corruption within the regime and awarding independence to the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) from the intervention of the Prime Minister himself all the way to suggesting judiciary reforms are now what I believe to be invalid due to some irresponsible and stupid politicians causing uproar here and there. What a pity.

Though I am supporting the coming of a new age in Malaysian politics but nevertheless I am not fully supporting Anwar; due to his current stand of championing reforms that is of my type that I'm lending my support to his cause and not to him. My loyalty is to my country, and the loyalty of politicians are to me and the rakyat of Malaysia. Never shall we be swayed again by their smooth talking methodology as we had done it in the past before the coming of the new age. Politics remain something to be check from time to time. Lifting up our defenses would only cause the crumbling the new awaited age and revert ourselves back into the dark ages of Malaysian politics.

However as we are now awaiting the moment of truth in three (3) days times, the other side of the world is facing a tremendous financial crisis. The troubled financial institution of Lehman Brothers. Would it be a repeated scene of the Bears Stern last March where the United States Treasury and Federal Reserve would spend another couple of billions (tax payers monies) to bail this institution out just like it had done previously on Freddie Mac and Fannie May? Or would the Bank of America, Barclays-United Kingdoms bank or the Chinese bank would send the immediate help necessary to avoid Moody's and S&P rating agency to downgrade Lehman Brothers to a triple-B rating, limiting certain action allowed to be taken by the Lehman Brothers. Financial news at times are as interesting as Malaysian politics, full of speculation and guessing games of scandals and stuff.

The stupidity of Malaysian government

Are we viable enough to achieve Vision 2020 like what Mahathir Mohammad had promised during his tenure as Malaysia's 4th Prime Minister. To me, its becoming more of a vague promise. Oh my my, the act of heroism by Mahathir when he save us from the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis by refusing delibrately to receive immediate financial aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank seems to be forgotten by time. His influence is just not that powerfull anymore, no more the ohmm in him. With the recent 12th General Election just passed when our "beloved" Malaysia's 5th Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi rejected the speculated date of the dissolvement of Parliament only to give us a shock the next day by announcing the dissolvement of Parliament. Contradicting his own words and I have no bloordy idea does he even realised that. Secondly after the election, was the sudden announcement of "harga petrol naik" again when all along they fooled us by publicly declaring that petrol price will increase only in the month of August by earliest. Another so-called suprise action being taken by Badawi. Not bad, he got potential to be a liar. (Psst..., I haven't even touch on the issue of how he got Jeanne Danker to be Puan Abdullah, but I won't come to that because that is his private life) Then came to this issue about having to change the uniform of female school students, who the PAS people convey their disgust on how old man are being turn-on by these younger girls. To be honest with you, I felt like laughing loudly the moment I read that even now while typing this up. How stupid can a stupid person be? I wonder have they ever listen to Frank Sinatra's "My Way". A little freedom in spirit of democracy here perhaps would be vital to ensure that we are still on track to achieve Vision 2020 to be a developed country. The key difference why we are facing a mountain of task to accomplish Vision 2020 when other countries without Vision 2020 can achieve developed country status is because of people like them who talk bullshit and walk on cow shit. Oh ya i forgot, there is also the Lingam case "judge fixing scandal" with the Royal Commision of Inquiry being established to evaluate the authencity of the video clip taken by Loh Gwo Burne (MP of Kelana Jaya) and produce to the government and media by Anwar Ibrahim (de facto PKR leader). The whole scenario was just to prove that the person in the video clip is indeed Lingam himself and not another person who "looks like him, sounded like him but not him". If you take a stroll at the highest floor in Pyramid Subang Jaya new wing, you'll notice there is a Radioactive shop that sells shirts with those words printed on it. Nothing unique, but I think Radioactive is quite a popular brand (can be argue or counter-argue) and they are taking this new pick-up line from Lingam. I wonder do they pay him royalty? Next was the newly announcement to bar media into the Parliament. Is that called a move to promote transparent governance?
Some of these things might sound trivial (media barred) while some are seriously important (petrol price increase), but what I'm trying to shine here is that how can a government make such stupid moves in the first place. In my humble opinion, aren't every action done had been past through a series of check and scrutinisation before commiting to it. If a government policy is to be question massively by so many non-political parties, then what are they doing in the Parliament? Something must not be right for that to happen right? If things goes on like this how is it possible to see Malaysia achieve a developed country status via Vision 2020.

The heat is up once more (Round 2 FIGHT!)

By now I'm sure YOU've read the suprising breaking news announce momentarily ago. SAPP two (2) Member of Parliament planning to announce a vote of no-confidence to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on early Monday Parliament seating. This will (definitely) be a huge setback not only for the Barisan National regime but worst of all our economy. Foreign investors will immedietly pull out massive amount of capital investment upon the distability of our political landscape and the next think you know, KLCI drop again, FDIs drop all time low and worst still we'll be in the headlines in global news (CNN, BBC, CNBC, Financial Times, Al Jazeera News, ABC Australian News). It seems this would be a once and for all a predicted downfall for UMNO/BN. To an extend that they might just fall back to take the opposition seats for the current term till the 13th GE. But I'll said that all I want from UMNO is two (2) things in order for me to classify them as a relevant political party; eliminate all the members holding the top seats-positions (President, Vice-President, Second Vice-President,Secretary-General,etc)because they are all, irregardless of past contributions toward the country are now all considered to be corrupted-squandering on our country's rich and bountiful resources indiscriminately as you all know. Secondly would be to immediately remove the Malay agenda that had been playing on since the very existence of it. Merge MCA and MIC with UMNO into one party and NOT! a coallition party. Collectively proclaim the word bangsa Malaysia. We never need to segregate our own people. For goodness sake, would you discriminate your own children in the future? These two actions are insurmountable only because of certain quarters harbouring the benefits of reaping the richness of our nation through a divide and rule conquering style. To those bigot who question the likeliness of establishing a BANGSA MALAYSIA; what is there to fear when it has not been tested out yet. I see Malays eating in an Indian restaurants, Chinese in Malays restaurants, Indians in Kadazan restaurants, Iban in Punjabi restaurants, so where is the problem of having the bangsa Malaysia agenda.
At times of a global economy price crisis, more people are fearing of the sustainability of their family income, so if it takes a united political party to withstand the economical tsunami, I'll bet with my head on the table that everyone will give a "yes" to establish a purely Bangsa Malaysia political party. And I double dare my head on the table that we could utterly withstand this economical tsunami. The move by SAPP members is just the beginning of the change taking place. From what I've heard, members of UMNO are painstakingly suffering from the reformation taking place on our judiciary system and other economical mechanism that was tilled to enchance the flow of money in our country's economy. They have warned Badawi and Zaid Ibrahim (De facto law minister) that the move had caused their "money" to decline. This make Badawi to fall into a dilemma whether to gain the support of the people but loose the support of UMNO members or loose the people's support and risk being taken over by Pakatan rakyat and remain his position as the President of UMNO in future. Its disgusting to hear that despite the outcome of the 12th General Election results that there are still a number of UMNO pathetic so-called hero of the people members make such demand in light of a downturn in the world economy. That means all along our economy benefits were never distributed equitably and the people are the ones supporting the setback of the global economy despite Malaysia being an oil producing country. 650,000 barrels of crude oil are being produced daily by Petronas and 250,000 are sold at global market price above USD$130 and yet the profit harvested are still insufficient to cushion the impact. At times like this we need a calibre leader to eliminate the so-called hypocrites of the people saviour icon, through the use of politics as the medium of exchange. The world is talking about economy stability and we are still squandering here talking about races? How pathetic are our politiciants ; so called hero of the people. Anyhow with the change of perception among the SAPP people, its time for round two (2) for "Barisan Nasional Vs Pakatan Rakyat". The spilling effect from the 12th GE.
